Applications for the 2018-2019 Honors Program in Symbolic Systems are now officially open. If you are a declared Sym Sys major with junior or senior credit standing, and are interested in applying to do an Honors degree in Symbolic Systems (Bachelor of Science with Honors), please read "Pursuing an Honors Degree in Symbolic Systems at Stanford: Advice, Guidelines, and Policies for 2018-2019". The deadline for applying to do an honors thesis in Symbolic Systems if you are planning to graduate in 2018-2019 is Sunday, September 30, 2018 (at the start of Week 2 of Autumn Quarter), but applications will be considered on a rolling basis prior to that.
You may apply to the SSP Honors Program either prior to or after applying for a UAR Major Grant, which offers a $7000 10-week summer stipend that can be used to support independent work on an Honors Thesis. The student deadline for applying for a Major Grant for the Summer of 2018 is Monday, March 12, 2018, before midnight, and the deadline for letters of recommendation for faculty sponsors of Major Grant proposals is March 18. However, neither applying for nor receiving a UAR Major Grant are required for admission to the SSP Honors Program.
