I am a postdoc looking for an undergraduate to start working January 2018 (with the expectation of continuing over the summer). We (in Professor Thomas Sudhof’s lab) are interested in understanding how neurons form synapses in the brain and will use CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing in human neurons. There are also data science/programming components to the project.

Expectations:

10 hrs/week minimum

Academic credit with summer fellowship (every student I have mentored has gotten funded).

I do not hand hold; I will show you once and then give you opportunities to try and learn.

I am fair, but you earn everything; in the past, the spectrum of what students got ranges from academic credit, recommendation letters, networking/introductions, fun/food outside of lab, to paid scientific conference attendance.

Clear communication, commitment, and responsibility; respect my time and plan ahead.
