ABSTRACT:

I will explore connections between the science of algorithms and the science of people, specifically between machine learning and behavioral economics. In particular I will address questions such as: Can algorithms be used to improve our understanding of people? How well do existing algorithms understand people? Can we improve that understanding? More broadly, how can these two fields help each other?
