Facebook is looking for talented Product Managers to coordinate the vision and technical development of new products. This position is full time and based in our main offices in Palo Alto, CA. The specific role is for one of the most-used user-facing features on the site. Someone with a background in Symbolic System would be a perfect fit for this position as it requires a deep understanding of sociology, psychology, and computer science.
Responsibilities Write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus and coordinate product schedules with a team of world-class engineers Facilitate communication throughout the development process between a variety of internal teams including operations, PR, customer support, executive, and others Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to ensure products satisfy customer needs Understand Facebook’s strategic and competitive position, and work to define and deliver the best products which maintain, shape, and improve that position Inform the roadmap with new, justifiable ideas to enhance existing functionality or introduce new features Maximize efficiency in a constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative and unique solutions are desired Requirements BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field (MS or Ph.D. is a plus) Exceptional written and oral communication skills Exceptional organizational and analytical skills Exceptional technical abilities and ability to work with engineers Statistics background or strong skills in data analysis (familiarity with SQL is a plus) Demonstrated skills in gathering requirements, organizing resources, and schedule risk management Understanding of social applications and media products, or the ability to quickly learn Experience developing Internet products, technologies and platforms is strongly desired |
