Likewise for the distinction, in philosophy of psychology and mind, between personal and sub‐personal levels of explanation. I’m interested in both distinctions — and trying to approach them in tandem - but in this talk I’ll mainly focus on the first: I’ll explain some of the problems that surround the inferential/non‐inferential distinction, and (time permitting) describe and motivate my overall strategy.
